C pillar cover repair
A growing list of replacement parts for the
E30 M3 is becoming NLA, so this repair may be of interest:
The C pillar interior trim panel is a padded
vinyl covered piece that degrades and splits with exposure to UV.
Mine was badly deteriorated along the edge by the rear window.
I trimmed off the curled up bits and
fabricated a patch panel from aluminum flashing. The metal can be
gently formed to lay fairly smoothly over the damaged area.
I painted mine flat black.
The panel was attached with a few dabs of
rtv silicone. It isn't perfect, but it is a big improvement.
